Twins Secure Win Against Bat Cats

Cade Sutherland drove in five runs on three hits to lead Derby Twins past Kansas Cannons 16-15 on Friday. Cade Sutherland singled in the first scoring two, hit a solo home run to left field in the ninth scoring one, and singled in the tenth scoring one.
Derby Twins collected 12 hits and Kansas Cannons had 14 in the high-scoring affair.
Derby Twins opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two singles. Derby Twins first got on the board when Cade Sutherland singled, scoring two runs.
Derby Twins added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Kade Sheldon walked, and Joel Lindahl scored after tagging up, each scoring one run.
Kansas Cannons captured the lead, 6-5, in the bottom of the fifth after Blake Seefeldt doubled to center field, and Ethan Nunez hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.
Derby Twins flipped the game on its head in the top of the sixth, scoring five runs on four hits to take the lead, 10-6. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Tyson Owens following a 6-pitch at-bat that drove in two.
Kansas Cannons tied the game in the bottom of the seventh thanks to a double by Blake Seefeldt, and a home run to left field by Ethan Nunez.
A wild pitch gave Kansas Cannons the lead, 11-10, in the bottom of the eighth.
Cade Sutherland homered to left field, which helped Derby Twins tie the game at 11 in the top of the ninth.
Derby Twins took the lead in the top of the tenth inning after Tyson Owens singled down the left field line, Kansas Cannons committed an error, Cade Sutherland singled down the left field line, Kansas Cannons committed an error, and Daniel Craig grounded out, each scoring one run.
Lucas Weaver started on the mound for Derby Twins. The righty surrendered five hits and four runs over four innings, striking out two and walking three. Gavin Hoffman started on the hill for Kansas Cannons. The starter allowed three hits and five runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking seven. Tommy Ches, Brandon Enders, Ryan Koob, Teddy Judkins, and Justin Zerger each appeared in relief for Derby Twins.
Derby Twins piled up 12 hits in the game. Kade Sheldon, Caden Richards, and Tyson Owens each collected multiple hits for Derby Twins. Kade Sheldon led Derby Twins with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, amassing 10 walks for the game. Derby Twins didn't commit a single error in the field. Tyson Owens had the most chances in the field with 10.
Kansas Cannons amassed 14 hits in the game. Blake Seefeldt provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Kansas Cannons with six runs batted in. The infielder went 4-for-4 on the day. Cooper Greene, Ethan Nunez, Teigan Munce, and Brady Hunt each collected multiple hits for Kansas Cannons. Kansas Cannons had patience at the plate, accumulating 10 walks for the game. Nico Rodriguez and Owen Baxter led the team with three walks each. Cooper Greene stole two bases. Kansas Cannons ran wild on the base paths, piling up four stolen bases for the game. Kansas Cannons turned one double play in the game.
