Bats Show Up In Derby Twins Win Against Junction City Brigade

There were runs aplenty on Monday at 900 W 13th St, as Derby Twins outshone Junction City Brigade 12-11. Derby Twins collected six hits, while Junction City Brigade had 11.

Derby Twins rallied for the victory despite trailing 4-0 in the third.

Junction City Brigade opened the scoring in the bottom of the second thanks to three singles. Junction City Brigade first got on the board when Ian Luce singled, scoring one run.

A single by Brayden Harpole extended the Junction City Brigade lead to 4-0 in the bottom of the third inning.

Derby Twins flipped the game on its head in the top of the sixth, scoring five runs on two hits to take the lead, 8-4. The biggest blow in the inning was an error that drove in two.

Junction City Brigade tied the game in the bottom of the sixth thanks to an error, a double by Kyler Horsman, and a single by Eli Kellogg.

Derby Twins took the lead in the top of the tenth inning after Noah Allison walked, Tyson Owens was struck by a pitch, Carter Kutz walked, and Damian Garcia hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.

Cade Sutherland started the game for Derby Twins. The pitcher surrendered five hits and four runs (one earned) over four innings, striking out one and walking four. Jackson  Gowan led things off on the bump for Junction City Brigade. The starting pitcher allowed three hits and two runs (one earned) over four innings, striking out two and walking three. Teddy Judkins tossed two and one-third innings of no-run ball for Derby Twins in relief. The reliever allowed two hits, striking out three and walking two.

Noah Allison, Rolen Driskoll, Cooper Scott, Caden Richards, Carter Kutz, and Kole Dudding each collected one hit for Derby Twins. Damian Garcia led the team with three runs batted in. Carter Kutz paced Derby Twins with four walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, amassing 12 walks for the game. Cooper Scott stole two bases. Derby Twins turned one double play in the game.

Junction City Brigade collected 11 hits in the game. Eli Kellogg led Junction City Brigade with three hits in six at bats. Sawyer Tolk, Brayden Harpole, and Kyler Horsman each drove in two runs for Junction City Brigade. Ian Luce collected two hits for Junction City Brigade in five at bats. Junction City Brigade had patience at the plate, amassing nine walks for the game. Peyton Firgens, Gannon White, and Kyler Horsman led the team with two free passes each. Chad Pantuso stole three bases. Junction City Brigade stole seven bases in the game. Junction City Brigade turned one double play in the game.

Derby Twins play at home on Wednesday against 2025 RMBL Dodge City A’s in their next game.
