Twins Come Up Short Against Monarchs in 5-4 loss

Hutchinson Monarchs got on the board in the first inning after Joey Senstock singled, scoring two runs.

 

Noah Allison homered to left field on the eighth pitch of the at-bat, which helped Derby Twins tie the game at three in the bottom of the sixth.

 

In the top of the seventh, Hutchinson Monarchs broke up the tie when Tyler Mitchell drew a walk, scoring one run. Then a single by Jeter Worthley followed to extend the lead to 5-3.

 

Derby Twins scored one run in the bottom of the eighth on a solo home run to left field by Joel Lindahl on the sixth pitch of the at-bat.

 

Riley Dickey earned the win for Hutchinson Monarchs. The right-handed pitcher allowed four hits and two runs over four innings, striking out four and walking none. Tommy Ches took the loss for Derby Twins. The right-handed pitcher went one and one-third innings, allowing two runs on one hit, striking out one and walking two. Alex Morrison stepped on the mound first for Derby Twins. The righty allowed five hits and three runs (two earned) over five innings, striking out nine and walking three. Lachlan Rosser led things off on the hill for Hutchinson Monarchs. The pitcher gave up one hit and one run (zero earned) over three innings, striking out four and walking one. Russell Copous earned the save.

 

Cade Sutherland, Noah Allison, Rolen Driskoll, Joel Lindahl, Tyson Owens, Griffin Cooley, and Carter Kutz each collected one hit for Derby Twins. Noah Allison, Rolen Driskoll, and Joel Lindahl each drove in one run for Derby Twins.

 

Blake Bradford and Jeter Worthley were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Hutchinson Monarchs. Joey Senstock went 1-for-4 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in.

 

Derby Twins will travel to Hutchinson Monarchs for their next game on Saturday.
