Derby Twins With Tough Game Against Haysville Aviators

Derby Twins had trouble keeping up with Haysville Aviators in a 13-7 loss on Saturday.

 

Haysville Aviators got on the board in the top of the second inning after Braden Horn doubled, scoring two runs, and Tresten "Maka" Shigamatsu homered to right field, scoring three runs.

Daniel Craig walked, which helped Derby Twins tie the game at five in the bottom of the third.

Haysville Aviators took the lead in the top of the fourth inning after Kayden Anderson grounded into a fielder's choice, and Quinn Groebl doubled to center field, each scoring one run.

Nash Crosby earned the win for Haysville Aviators. The righty allowed two hits and one run (zero earned) over three innings, striking out one and walking one. Cade Sutherland pitched four innings in relief for Derby Twins. The right-handed pitcher allowed one hit and one run while, striking out five and walking three. Brandon Enders took the loss for Derby Twins. The right-handed pitcher went two and two-thirds innings, giving up four runs (three earned) on four hits, striking out two and walking two. Lucas Weaver stepped on the bump first for Derby Twins. The starting pitcher allowed three hits and five runs over one and one-third innings, striking out three and walking two. Bryson Lake started on the hill for Haysville Aviators. The starting pitcher allowed three hits and four runs over two innings, striking out three and walking one.

Ramon Martinez led Derby Twins with two runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. The infielder went 1-for-4 on the day. Tyson Owens led Derby Twins with two hits in four at bats. Derby Twins had patience at the plate, accumulating seven walks for the game. Daniel Craig, Dylan Broadway, and Kade Sheldon led the team with two free passes each.

Haysville Aviators tallied nine hits in the game. Braden Horn led Haysville Aviators with three runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 3-for-5 on the day. Connor Rabe collected two hits for Haysville Aviators in five at bats. Gam Jones led Haysville Aviators with three walks.
