Happy Thanksgiving!
Sports truly do have the ability to connect and motivate us all. This Thanksgiving, several of your favorite UWLX players explain why they are thankful for the game of lacrosse. From forming lifelong friends to inspiring them to push through difficult situations, there are many reasons to be thankful for the lessons that lacrosse teaches on and off the field.
Lacrosse gave me the opportunity to go to college and grow as a person more than I could have ever imagined. It has also introduced me to some of the smartest, most inspiring and selfless people I know. Through these relationships I am encouraged daily to do the right thing (even when it's hard), live outside my comfort zone and stay true to who I am and what I believe in. What an incredible experience it has been and continues to be. - Hillary Fratzke, Long Island Sound
I am thankful for lacrosse because it has allowed me to make an abundant amount of new friendships that I never would have made without lacrosse in my life. - Kasey Mock, Boston Storm
I am thankful for lacrosse because it has provided me with the opportunity to impact someone else's life in a way I never thought possible. Coaching is like another form of teaching in which you are able to use your experiences and knowledge to help guide another individual to reach their true potential. It is the most rewarding profession. - Samantha Cermack, Philadelphia Force
I am thankful I got the opportunity to play again through the UWLX! I felt so lucky to meet and play with my amazing teammates, and be coached by some of the top coaches in the game. I am always thankful when my lacrosse circle grows by adding some awesome people to it :) - Kristin Igoe, Boston Storm
I'm thankful for lacrosse because it has helped shape the person I am today. I don't know where I'd be without lacrosse. It has and continues to be the most important thing in my life and I'm forever thankful that I can have a career doing what I love most. I've also made friends that I'll have for the rest of my life which I am forever thankful for. - Shannon Gilroy, Long Island Sound
Lacrosse has helped me through every facet of my life whether directly or indirectly. It pushes me to be better, drives me through tough times, and helps me to enjoy the small victories in everything I do. - Colleen Magarity, Boston Storm
Lacrosse has taught me numerous life lessons. Without the sport and the people involved in it, I would not be the person and player that I am today! - Liz Hogan, Boston Storm
Lacrosse has provided me with many opportunities to grow as a person and an athlete. I am thankful for the sport and the influence it has had on my life. - Ali Flury, Boston Storm
