In a game that seemed like it could be Long Island’s first loss of the season, the Sound battled back and came out with a 14-11 victory.

Sarah Martin and Christina Esposito led the way for the Sound with 4 goals each. Sammy Jo Tracy once again proved her dominance in the midfield grabbing 14 of the game’s draw controls, also adding 3 ground balls. Defensively, the team caused a total of 5 turnovers, pivotal to their success in a tightly contested game. In goal, Murray came up with 12 saves.

Kayla O’Connor stepped up for Boston scoring 4 goals. Boston showed once again this season how much of a team effort they put in to every game with 7 different goal scorers and 6 assisted goals. Chirco had 13 saves for the Storm. Only collecting 2 draw controls on the game caused some trouble for the sound who also forced 9 turnovers.

Playoffs begin this weekend (7/29) at Jordan Field in Boston. Long Island will face Baltimore at 2:00 followed by Boston against Philadelphia at 4:00.
