During the UWLX offseason, we are asking a few questions of our players to give you a little bit more background on them. Next up, we have Boston Storm midfield Ali Flury.

Talk about the sense of pride you have in being one of the founding players and trailblazers of professional women’s lacrosse in the USA.

AF:  It is such an honor to have the opportunity to be part of the inaugural season of the UWLX and playing with or against some of the best players in the game. I am excited to watch the league continue to develop and the women's game grow.

In your lifetime, what has been your most memorable or all-time favorite lacrosse moment?

AF:  One of the most memorable moments of my lacrosse career was winning the Maryland State Championship my freshman year of high school at Broadneck. We were down 7-1 late into the second half but fought back to tie the game with seven seconds left in regulation. Ultimately, we went on to win 9-8 in double overtime (sudden death).

This experience showed that you should never give up, no matter how monumental the task seems. A team can work together and rally to change the outcome of a game.

If you had one message for young girls who are playing lacrosse, what would it be?

AF:  Whenever you take the field, work hard, play tough, but always have fun!

Make sure to catch Ali and the rest of the world class players of the United Women's Lacrosse League when the UWLX plays its second season in the summer of 2017!
