During the UWLX offseason, we are asking a few questions of our players to give you a little bit more background on them. Next up, we have Philadelphia Force midfield Sarah Lloyd.
Talk about the sense of pride you have in being one of the founding players and trailblazers of professional women’s lacrosse in the USA.
SL: Playing for the UWLX is such an incredible honor. To play with girls I have admired and looked up to my whole life in addition to girls I played with or against in college was a phenomenal experience. The fastest sport on two feet became even faster, and with the best players in the world you can't get much better lacrosse!
In your lifetime, what has been your most memorable or all-time favorite lacrosse moment?
SL: My all-time favorite lacrosse moment was winning the Ivy League my senior year of college for the first time in over eight years. It was one of the most fun games I have ever played in, and such a sweet moment for our senior class.
If you had one message for young girls who are playing lacrosse, what would it be?
SL: Stick with it! Lacrosse is such a fantastic sport; it can be challenging sometimes no matter what your skill level is, but you can make some really great friends and your passion for the sport should never be defeated.
Make sure to catch Sarah and the rest of the world class players of the United Women's Lacrosse League when the UWLX plays its second season in the summer of 2017!
