During the UWLX offseason, we are asking a few questions of our players to give you a little bit more background on them. Next up, we have Baltimore Ride midfield Amanda Johansen.

Talk about the sense of pride you have in being one of the founding players and trailblazers of professional women’s lacrosse in the USA.

AJ:  It's amazing to be able to be a part of such a special opportunity for women's lacrosse. I am honored to have been drafted and am so grateful to be able to continue to play such competitive lacrosse after the college level.

In your lifetime, what has been your most memorable or all-time favorite lacrosse moment?

AJ:  Making it to the quarterfinals my senior year after completing an undefeated season in just the fourth year of our program at USC. Playing in an overtime game against Syracuse in the Carrier Dome was such a memorable experience, even if we did not come out with the win.

If you had one message for young girls who are playing lacrosse, what would it be?

AJ: Have fun and don't be afraid to make mistakes. When you are able to go out of your comfort zone, that is when you will grow as a player!

Make sure to catch Amanda and the rest of the world class players of the United Women's Lacrosse League when the UWLX plays its second season in the summer of 2017!
