Fort Wayne, Indiana - The Federals are proud to announce the signing of defensemen Johnathan Docherty for the 2014-2015 season.  The Aurora, CO native returns to Fort Wayne for his second season in a Federals uniform."We are nothing short of thrilled to bring back Johnathan to Fort Wayne, " said Assistant GM Chris Treft, "his character and maturity are well above his age, with him back we gain much needed leadership on the roster".

Docherty (19) makes his mark on the ice via his defensive capabilities "Not only does he bring his all around great defensive abilities to our lineup, his work ethic is unrivaled as he is the hardest working kid on the ice in games and practices" added Treft. Docherty appeared in 35 games last season for the Feds compiling nine points with one goal and eight assists.  The highlight of Docherty's season came on January 12th when he earned a Gordie Howe Hat Trick (a goal, assist and fight) in a 8-5 victory over the Tri-City Icehawks. Before joining the Feds last season, the "Doctor of Defense" played high school hockey in Colorado for Cherry Creek High School.

Docherty is very excited to be in Fort Wayne and hungry for success, "It's good to be back to somewhere familiar, " said Docherty. "After an early exit from the playoffs last year, it's time for redemption. It's time to get back to work".

"With Docherty back, we have veteran leadership to build around in our pursuit of a championship", said Treft.

The Federals are grateful to have Jonathan back in a Federals uniform and look forward to another great season of development for him.
