MARSH FIELD - The Hamilton Joes took the first game of the GLSCL Championship Series after a commanding 14-1 win over the Muskegon Clippers at Marsh Field.
The Joes set the tone in the second inning when Brayden Fraasman (North Carolina State) launched a grand slam homer over the left field fence. The grand salami was just the third grand slam hit during the 2024 GLSCL season. Fraasman went 3-for-6 with five RBIs, two runs scored and a stolen base.
Hamilton starting pitcher Evan Moore (Lincoln Trail) kept the Clippers batters off balance with his off speed stuff and pitch location. Moore benefited from an offensive attack that included 17 hits.

Tommy Harrison (Miami University) hit a solo homer leading off the inning.
Ryan Novak (Miami University) singled driving in Paul Osting (Lincoln Trial) and Frassman scored on a throwing error trying to throw him out at third base.
Cam Gilkerson (Wright State) finished off the Clippers with a towering two-run homer to the deepest part of the ballpark in center field.
Moore pitched into the ninth inning before being pulled giving up just one run on three hits. He was replaced by Jared Teke (Northern Kentucky) who inherited a jam with no outs and runners on first and second base.
Teke finished off the Clippers with no further damage striking out Carson McCoy (Parker Henry CC) ending the threat and the game.
Fraasman, Harrison and Mitchel Szymczak (Lake Erie College) each had three hits for the Hamilton.
