Hamilton's Michael Bilo is named the GLSCL Pitcher of Week

GLSCL PITCHER OF THE WEEK - June 16, 2025

Michael Bilo - Hamilton Joes - George Mason University

Michael Bilo pitched a seven-inning complete game shutout on June 14 against the Michigan Monarchs. The Joes won the first game of a double header 5-0 over the Monarchs at Foundation Field. Bilo faced just three batters above the minimum giving up just two hits while striking out four batters in a 77-pitch effort.

 

Bilo just finished his freshman season at George Mason University where he saw action in nine games. He threw 12 and 2/3 innings picking up save and registering nine strikeouts. The Patriots advanced to the A-10 Tournament Championship game falling to top-seeded Rhode Island finishing the season with a 40-21 season.

 

Bilo is a native of Mason, Ohio where he was the winning pitcher for the Mason Comets in the 2024 OHSAA state championship game.

 

 

HONORABLE MENTION - Pitcher of the Week

 

Matthew Hubbard - Michigan Monarchs - University of Toledo

Matthew Hubbard made two appearances out of the bullpen for the Monarchs earning the victory on June 10 against the Flag City Sluggers. Hubbard pitched five no hit, shutout innings in relief striking out seven batters. He pitched a total of seven and 2/3 innings striking out 10 batters giving up just on hit and one walk.

 

 

Cameron Darrington - Lima Locos - Ashland University (transfer portal)

Cameron Darrington entered the game on June 11 against the Flag City Sluggers with the Locos trailing 4-0. Darrington struck the batter ending the threat and went on to pitch five and 1/3 shutout innings in relief. He struck out nine batters while giving up just two hits and did not walk a batter.

 

 

Kendall Brewer - Muskegon Clippers - Erskine College

Kendall Brewer pitched an eight inning complete game during a losing effort in a 2-1 Clippers loss against the Michigan Monarchs. Brewer gave up just two runs, only one of which was earned, scattering two hits while striking out seven batters.

The Great Lakes Summer Collegiate, founded in 1987, is a wood-bat league that is certified by the NCAA and is partially funded by Major League Baseball. The GLSCL is a non-profit 501(c)(3) entity that is one of 12 members of the National Alliance of Collegiate Summer Baseball (NACSB). The league currently consists of 7 active franchises in Ohio and Michigan boasting several players that have earned service time in major league baseball.
