Grand Lake's Hayden bush wins Pitcher of the Week

GLSCL PITCHER OF THE WEEK - July 25, 2024

 

Hayden Bush - Grand Lake Mariners - Tiffin University

Hayden Bush had his best outing of the season in final start pitching a seven-inning complete game six-hit shutout on July 22 against the Lima Locos. Bush struck out a season high seven batters while not allowing a walk. He earned his first victory of the season in the 12-0 run-rule win over its longtime rivalry.

 

Bush finished the season striking out 22 batters in 28 innings of work with a 1-1 record and a 3.85 ERA. He made eight appearances for the Mariners including five starts.

 

The Greenville, Ohio native appeared in four games pitching three and 1/3 innings this past spring for the Tiffin University Dragons. Tiffin made it the championship game of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) tournament falling to Mount Vernon Nazarene.

Evan Moore - Hamilton Joes - Lincoln Trail College

Evan Moore pitched seven shutout innings in a 1-0 Hamilton victory over Southern Ohio on July 23. Moore scattered four hits while notching eight strikeouts. The Alexandria, Kentucky native, who joined the team in July, improved his record to 2-0 on the season.

 

 

Logan McLaughlin - Michigan Monarch - Hillsdale College

Logan McLaughlin earned the victory in the first of two elimination games for the Michigan Monarchs winning 4-3 over the Muskegon Clippers on July 22. The Monarchs gave McLaughlin the ball and he didn’t disappoint going five and 2/3 innings giving up just two runs on three hits. McLaughlin, who was an all-star for the Monarchs, improving his record to 3-0 on the season striking out a season high seven batters.

 

 

Abe Crall - Hamilton Joes - Wright State University 

Abe Crall earned a victory and a save in his two outings out of the Hamilton bullpen. Crall combined for three and 2/3 scoreless innings of work striking out eight while giving up just one hit and walking two batters. The incoming freshman to Wright State, who was an all-star for the Joes, finished the season with a 3-0 record and two saves in 11 relief  appearances.

The Great Lakes Summer Collegiate, founded in 1987, is a wood-bat league that is certified by the NCAA and is partially funded by Major League Baseball. The GLSCL is a non-profit 501(c)(3) entity that is one of 12 members of the National Alliance of Collegiate Summer Baseball (NACSB). The league currently consists of 7 active franchises in Ohio and Michigan boasting several players that have earned service time in major league baseball.
