TROY, Ohio - The playoff seeds and pairings have been set for the GLSCL playoffs beginning Friday night July 26.
Four teams qualified with a pair of three-game semi-final series determining the championship series matchup.
Since there are no divisions in the seven-team overall field the playoff seedings are not as traditional as in years past.
In the off season, the GLSCL presidents and general managers voted on and passed the policy of regional pairings for the post season due to travel considerations. Since the two teams from the state of Michigan both qualified for the post season they were paired in the first round of the playoffs.
That means the #3 Muskegon Clippers (20-16) will play the #4 Michigan Monarchs (17-19). On the other side of the bracket, its the #1 seed Hamilton Joes (25-6) taking on the #2 seed Lima Locos (21-15).
The format for both the the semi-finals and the championship series is low-high-high when it comes to which team will host.
This simply means that in the semi-finals the Locos and the Monarchs will host game one. The Joes and the Clippers will host game two the if necessary game three.
Again the low-high-high hosting format will also be in effect for the championship series.
