Date: Jul 30, 2017
Coming off of a tough loss to the Southern Ohio Copperheads on Monday, the Ironmen got shut out by the Lima Locos, 7-0 as the Ironmen lost their fourth straight.
Brad Croy got the start for the Locos and he was dealing. He allowed just five hits over seven innings of work and he did not allow a run to score.
The top pitching staff in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League stayed true to form as Joe Taylor came in to shut things down and keep the shut out in tact.
The Locos got on the board in the third inning after Josh DeBaker led the inning off with a triple and came home to score on a groundout by Ethan Hurt. Tyler Tolbert singled with two outs and ended up stealing a base and scoring on a single by Will Robertson.
Ryan LaPage settled in for Lorain County, but ran into trouble in the sixth as he could not escape the inning and the Locos added on four more runs.
The Locos added another run on a solo homerun by Jaxon Fagg in the eighth inning to seal the deal for the Locos.
Cory got his first win of the season, while LaPage took the loss.
