The Pembroke Lumber Kings had a four-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-2 win over the Brockville Braves.

The win gave Pembroke a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series.

The Lumber Kings were led by Felix Chamberland, who registered one goal and one assist. Chamberland scored 7:10 into the first period to make the score 3-0 Pembroke. Jordan Larson provided the assist.

Pembroke's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Brockville power plays.

Dylan Staples also scored for Pembroke. More assists for Pembroke came via Sam Gleason, who had two and Colton Keuhl, Dylan Chase, Trent Durocher, Lucas Gonu, Patrice Wren, Kyle Shaw, Stephan Beauvais, and Steven Johnston, who contributed one each.

Brockville excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. The Lumber Kings were unable to stop the Braves from sending pucks towards the net, and Brockville eventually piled up 33 shots on goal.

Darren Smith rejected 31 shots on goal for Pembroke. The Lumber Kings incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Andrew Pikul made 24 saves for the Braves on 30 shots. Brockville incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
