A hat trick by Clark Veenstra was the highlight in Rangers' 9-6 win against the Hawkesbury Hawks.

Veenstra's first goal came 3:15 into the second period. He then added goals at 13:29 into the third and at 19:10 into the third.

The Gloucester Rangers found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, Gloucester averages 3.5 goals per contest. The Rangers' penalty kill unit could not stop Hawkesbury's power play, which converted on two of three opportunities.

Gloucester additionally got points from Matt Foget, who also tallied two goals and one assist, Max Veronneau, who also grabbed two goals and one assist, and Greg Jansz, who also had one goal and four assists to lead the team in points. Gloucester also got a goal from Michael DiBello as well. Other players who recorded assists for Gloucester were Matt Rosebrook, who had three, Trevor Dulong and Chris Morgan, who contributed one a piece, and Adam Beveridge and Vincent Guimond, who each chipped in two.

The Hawks bested their season scoring average. Hawkesbury averages 2.3 goals per game.

The Hawks were led by Francis Landers, who racked up four goals. Hawkesbury also got points from Carl Faucher, who also tallied one goal and two assists. Nicolas Vlahos also scored for Hawkesbury. In addition, Hawkesbury received assists from Zach Car, Brandon Barillaro, and Stavros Soilis, who contributed one a piece and Yanik Laliberte and CJ Stubbs, who each chipped in three.

Doug Johnston made 19 saves for Gloucester on 25 shots. The Rangers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Hawkesbury's starting goalie, Gunner Rivers, made 12 saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Jean-Pascal Sabourin, who stopped seven shots. The Hawks incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
