18U Borges Signs with Northeastern
Date: Sep 4, 2013
Both 12U Ontario Prospects Teams are in the planning stages of their year-end trip to Cooperstown All-Star Village July 27th – Aug 2nd 2013. This trip will wrap up the 2012/13 season and be the season finale for these 2 teams. 12U head coach Alan Butler said “what a great way to wrap up the season. I am so excited about this trip and already looking forward to a great week with the boys”.
At the All-Star Village players are treated like Big Leaguers beginning with the accommodations. All players and coaches are housed together in PRO style dorms able to enjoy the full experience of the week-long event. The teams will play a minimum of 7 games on MLB style replica fields facing some of the toughest competition from all across the United States and Canada. Each player will receive induction into the Cooperstown Youth Baseball Hall of Fame, get bot home and away CASV uniforms warm up jackets and a Hall Of Fame Ring. During the week the coaches will chaperone the teams on 2 different field excursions. First will be to travelling to the American Baseball Hall of Fame to see where all the greats have gone before, learn the history of this great game and get a chance to envision their name of one of those walls someday. The next outing will be to catch a game at the historic Double Day field in downtown Cooperstown which is considered to be the original “birth place of baseball”.
There is lots of preparation needed to be ready for this great week both on and off the field. The 12U teams are getting set to start the off-season training portion of their program to work on all the individual player skills, mechanics and fundamentals. We will continue to keep you posted as more details become available as we creep closer to that exciting July 27th date.
