Vinny Plateroti of the Capalbo Captains has been voted the 2012 NWBL West Division Most Valuable Player. Members of the National Wiffleball League Association, players and managers of the National Wiffleball League, and the NWBL Commissioner have voted Plateroti this year's best hitter of the West Division.

In 2012, Plateroti batted above .580 with 15 homeruns and 80+ RBIs, putting him among the best in the league. He leads the league in RBIs and is ranked among the top hitters in the NWBL West with 20 doubles. 

In what was one of the closest races in NWBL award voting history, Plateroti ousted other favorites in Tom Gaccione and Steve Coral. When it came to hitting, Plateroti proved to be the most valable, and it has shown - the Captains are heading to the 2012 NWBL Championship.
