NWLA Tournament: Round 3
Date: Oct 17, 2012
The Garret Mountain LumberJacks are back in the Dangerfield Tournament. Each year, the NWLA holds a tournament to crown the least-best wiffleball team in the nation. In 2011, the LumberJacks (then-Rebels) finished the season 1-37 and went on to win the Dangerfield Tournament.
A vast improvement over the off-season led the 'Jacks to a 6-20 record. Unlike last season, the LumberJacks didn't earn a 1-seed, but edged their way in with a 8-seed. In the first round of the tournament, the 'Jacks will face off against the 1-seed Fun Out There of the PWL (0-14).
It seems as if the LumberJacks would need a miracle to earn a "victory" to the second round, but it's more likely that the LumberJacks can safely bet they are not the worst team in the country.
