Steve Coral Named Player of the Year

Date:  Source: National Wiffleball League

Steve Coral has been voted the 2012 NWBL Player of the Year, honoring the NWBL player who was the best player of the season, a mixture of statistics and pure talent. Members of the National Wiffleball League Association, managers and players of the National Wiffleball League, and the NWBL Commissioner all voted that Steve Coral was indeed, the best player of 2012.

Last season, many argued that the arrival of Steve Coral was the reason the Captains won 29 games and eventually the NWBL Championship. This season, Coral upped his numbers and it has shown once again, as the Captains are heading to the NWBL Championship and are favorites to win.

Coral took home a Gold Glove award and Reliever of the Year award, and was a major candidate for Cy Young and NWBL West MVP. Coral finished the season atop the league in average, batting above .600. He finished the season with the most doubles and second in RBIs.

On the mound, Coral's record stood at 7-0 with a 2.23 ERA at the writing of this post. His two saves, while not alot, tied the league leader.

"Coral's pure talent and outstanding statistics have helped lead not just the Captains, but the NWBL. Slowly becoming the face of the NWBL, Coral just keeps getting better."

The National Wiffleball League would like to congratulate Steve Coral on winning this season's Player of the Year.
