NWLA Tournament: Round 3
Date: Oct 17, 2012
Robinson Toledo of the Paterson Bombers has been voted the 2012 NWBL Rookie of the Year by members of the NWLA, NWBL players and managers, and the Commissioner. Toledo beat out other favorites in K.C. Abel, Mike Hennion, and Rob Scelzo. This is the first franchise award for the Paterson Bombers.
Toledo led the Bombers in every offensive category and was among the best in the East Division. After a very slow start, Toledo's numbers began to quickly increase and became one of the league's best power hitters.
For the 2012 season, Toledo batted near .500 with 15+ homeruns and 45+ RBIs, all impressive numbers. Despite a 1-7 record on the mound with a 4.50+ ERA, he helped keep a struggling Bombers franchise competitive and went beyond many preditctions.
The National Wiffleball League would like to congratulate Robinson Toledo on winning this year's Rookie of the Year honors.
