PHASE 1’s Basketball Academy Kicks off with a Special Guest 

Orlando Magic’s newest draftee, Andrew Nicholson coming back to his roots.

Toronto, ON (August 2, 2012) – PHASE 1 Academy is opened their annual basketball academy for boys and girls with a development clinic and as an extra bonus Andrew Nicholson joined in.

Taking place at Riverdale Collegiate Institute on Thursday August 2nd, The PHASE 1 Academy allows those interested in basketball to experience their proven basketball and athlete development system.

“It was exciting to have Andrew come in and work with us,” says PHASE 1 president Wayne Dawkins, “it’s always nice to have alumni share their experiences and encourage participants to work hard and stay focused.”

Mississauga native, Andrew Nicholson was selected by the Orlando Magic in June as a first round draft pick. This will be his first and only clinic before an intense season of training and basketball begins. 

Past PHASE 1 participants have included current NBA players like Tristan Thompson (Cleveland Cavaliers), Cory Joseph (San Antonio Spurs) and Denham Brown (Seattle SuperSonics) and 2012 Great Britain Olympian player Kyle Johnson.
