NPSAA 2013 ANNOUNCEMENT
The NPSAA goal is to elevate Canadian Basketball to become a highly competitive environment for our Canadian players who seek a high level of competition and exposure in order to be recognized by mainstream Colleges and Universities throughout North America, without sacrificing the quality of life and education many suffer when uprooting and crossing the border.
The NPSAA has experienced considerable growth in its 3 years of existence, and considering the speed in which our basketball community is changing; we continually work hard to make the necessary adjustments. These adjustments provide opportunities for capacity building, innovation and resource development to better serve the players and the organizations they represent.
Wayne Dawkins, the current commissioner of the NPSAA, has done a tremendous job of moving the organization to national and international recognition and will continue to bring innovative ideas and technology to the league. However, with the new expansion of the Grade 10 Under Division and the growing onsite operations we are pleased to announce the appointment of Jermain Holness, of Hoops Canada, as Deputy Commissioner. Jermain brings 15 years of basketball expertise and organizational development to the table and has successfully developed and run his organization Hoops Canada in the GTA. Welcome to the team!
The NPSAA will continue to develop working strategies that will focus on our mandate and urge all to stay posted for new exciting developments and opportunities arising in 2013. The NPSAA wishes all athletes, teams, and organizations greater success in 2013 as we move forward to contributing to the rise of the Canadian basketball industry!
