2016 Heat Pitcher, Ryan Byrd to Return for 2017 Season

Chico, CA:  The Chico Heat have announced the return of pitcher Ryan Byrd, from Spokane Falls Community College for the 2017 summer season.  Byrd, from Spokane, WA is in his second year with the Bigfoot.

Summer 2016:  Appeared in 13 games, starting nine for the Heat … went 6-1 with a 1.50 ERA … struck out 45 in 65 innings pitched … pitched 5+ innings in seven of his nine starts … threw 9.2 innings of no-hit ball on July 18th against Lodi, ultimately surrendering two hits in a 1-0 12 inning win by the Heat … selected to the 2016 Great West League North All Star team… Named All-GWL Second Team…

2016: Appeared in 11 games, making four starts for Spokane Falls Community College... went 1-1 with a 3.67 ERA … struck out 25 in 33.1 innings pitched … pitched 8.1 innings on May 11 against Wenatchee Valley CC in a 5-3 win…
