Heat add Hawaii Pacific Pitcher to 2017 Roster

Chico, CA:  The Chico Heat have announced that pitcher Ryan Sanchez, from Hawaii Pacific University will join the Heat for the 2017 summer season.  Sanchez, from Atwater, CA is in his first year with the Sharks.  Sanchez is the third HPU Shark to commit to the Heat for 2017, joining outfielder Tanner Tokunaga and catcher, Kreston Woods. 

Before HPU:  Played at Merced Community College … 1st Team All Central Valley Conference Pitcher as a Freshman in 2015 … 2nd Team All Central Valley Conference Pitcher in 2016 … Made 15 appearances, starting 11 games in 2016 … Went 6+ innings in six of his 11 starts in 2016 … 4-5 with a 4.06 ERA and 43 strikeouts over 71 innings … Gave up three hits and one run while striking out seven on April 2, 2016 in a complete game 2-1 victory over West Hills Coalinga …
