Chico, CA: The Chico Heat have announced the return of pitcher Joel Lamont, from Cal State East Bay for the 2017 summer season. Lamont, from Surrey, BC, Canada is in his first year with the Pioneers after transferring from New Mexico Highlands University.
Summer 2016: Appeared in 16 games all out of the bullpen for the Heat … went 0-0 with seven saves and a 2.45 ERA … struck out 16 in 18.1 innings pitched … was 7-8 in Save opportunities …
2016 (New Mexico Highlands University): Appeared in 14 games, making 14 starts for New Mexico Highlands University as a freshman... went 3-6 with a 4.60 ERA … struck out 81 in 76.1 innings pitched … pitched back to back complete games, including a complete game shutout on April 30, 2016 vs CSU Pueblo … pitched 15 scoreless innings between April 23 and April 30 starts … Named Subway Student Athlete of the Week in consecutive weeks (April 26 and May 3) …
