Chico, CA: The Chico Heat have announced the addition of pitcher Andrew Schantz from Chico State University to the 2017 summer roster. Schantz, from Folsom, CA is in his first year with the Wildcats after spending two seasons with the Folsom Lake CC Falcons.
PERSONAL: Born November 15, 1995 in Folsom…Son of Ty and Dana…Has three older siblings: Brittney, Bryce and Jordan...Transfer from Folsom Lake College in Folsom…Pre-Chico Days: Spent two seasons pitching for the Falcons under Head Coach and former Chico State great Rich Gregory…Appeared in 10 games (eight starts) in 2016, posting a 2-1 record and 2.66 ERA…A 2014 graduate of Vista Del Lago High School in Folsom…Helped lead Eagles to pair of Sierra Valley Conference titles…Earned First Team All-SVC honors as a senior…Named to the 2014 MaxPreps California Medium Schools All-State Team and the Sacramento Bee All-Metro Team…Also lettered in football…Majoring in business management.
