Chico, CA: The Chico Heat have announced the addition of catcher Gavin Johns from UCLA to the 2017 summer roster. Johns, from Temecula, CA is in his first year with the Bruins after spending one season with the Yavapai College Roughriders (Prescott, AZ).
Personal: Born in Wildomar, CA. ... parents are Craig and Libby Johns … has one brother, Hayden … uncle, Dick Mills, pitched for the Boston Red Sox in 1970 … cousin, Ryan Mills, drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the first round in 1998 … decided to attend UCLA because it is a legacy school for academics and athletics … his major is communications.
