Chico, CA:  The Chico Heat have announced the addition of pitcher Ryan Steindorf from UC Davis to the 2017 summer roster.  Steindorf, from Chico, CA is in his second year with the Aggies after graduating from Pleasant Valley High School in 2015.

Personal: Parents are Kurt and Cindy... Has a younger sister, Lauren... His uncle, Scott, played four seasons of football at Fresno State from 1993-96... An avid outdoorsman who lists hunting and fishing among his hobbies, he was named the Student-Athlete of the Year for Pleasant Valley HS, who lists his career sports highlight as throwing a complete-game no-hitter

2016: Appeared in 10 games out of the bullpen for the Aggies in his first season... Finished the year without recording a decision and posting a 6.14 ERA in 14.2 innings... Made his collegiate debut in relief against Portland on Feb. 19, striking out one in an inning of work... Threw a season-high 2.2 innings on the road at CSUN on May 14, allowing a run on two hits and striking out a pair... Tossed 1.2 innings of scoreless, hitless relief against Air Force on March 25, walking one.

High School - PLEASANT VALLEY HS '15
Helped the Vikings to a berth in the CIF Northern Section semifinals before falling to Red Bluff HS in a best-of-three series... Hit .397 with 38 hits, 22 runs, 10 doubles, and 29 RBI, while also going 6-2 with a 0.44 ERA in 12 games on the mound, surrendering just four earned runs in 64.1 innings, striking out 73 against just 29 walks... Named to the All-Eastern Athletic League First Team as a senior... Helped lead Pleasant Valley HS to an Eastern Athletic League title and a trip to the section finals as a junior... Hit better than .400 as a sophomore and junior, including .406 with 43 hits, 13 doubles, 30 runs, and 31 RBI, as a junior, and .494 with 41 hits, 31 runs, and 25 RBI, as a sophomore... An all-league choice as a sophomore, and an All-Eastern Athletic League and all-section selection as a junior.
