Chico, CA:  The Chico Heat have announced the addition of University of Arizona pitcher Austin Nichols to the 2017 summer roster.  Nichols, from Queen Creek, AZ is in his first year with the Wildcats after graduating from Queen Creek High School in 2016.

PERSONAL:  Was a four-year letter winner at Queen Creek High School in Queen Creek, Arizona … Was 2-2 with a 3.23 ERA as a Senior.  He had 26 strikeouts in 26 innings pitched.  In four years of Varsity baseball, he batted .357 over 328 plate appearances … Scored 81 runs with an on base percentage of .414.
