Massachusetts beats Rhode Island 4-3 After Comeback Scare


 

The Rhode Island Rams tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the Massachusetts University of Minutemen would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-3.

Massachusetts University of took a 4-2 lead during the third period, only to have Rhode Island storm back on a Casey Mccormick goal 4:18 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

 

Brittani Lanzilli had a great game for the Minutemen, netting two goals. Massachusetts University of kept the Rams' goalie busy throughout the game, and Abigail Torres made 29 saves on 33 shots.

Courtney Sullivan also scored for Massachusetts University of. Other players who recorded assists for Massachusetts University of were Kelly Dolan, Michaela Tosone, and Ally Perdios, who contributed one each.

The Minutemen were unable to stop Rhode Island from sending pucks towards the net, and the Rams eventually piled up 44 shots on goal.
