Rams Travel Back to Michigan for 3 Game Series

The Miami University RedHawks were firing on all cylinders against the Rhode Island Rams, and when the final buzzer sounded RedHawks emerged with a 6-0 win.
Jordan Hanson had a great game for Miami University, netting two goals. Hanson found the back of the net 9:55 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Miami University and again while 34 seconds into the second to make the score 3-0 Miami University.
The RedHawks forced Rams' goalies to work between the pipes, racking up 32 shots and forcing 26 saves. Katelyn Bucior made 15 stops and Abigail Torres made 11. Miami University put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Rhode Island to score on any of its three power plays. The RedHawks bested their season scoring average. Miami University averages 3.6 goals per game.
Miami University additionally got points from Caroline Noble, who also finished with one goal and three assists to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Miami University included Nicole Matthews, Kaley Mooney, and Katelyn Augustine, who scored one goal each. In addition, Miami University received assists from Becca Senden, who had one and Ireland Mooney, who had two.
The Rams stifled the RedHawks' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Rhode Island's offense operated below its season average. The Rams average 3.5 goals per game. Miami University's defense shut down Rhode Island's forwards for much of the game, and the Rams got off only nine shots during the contest. Rhode Island's defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. The Rams give up 2.2 goals per game.
