Box Score

Dean Ramiono’s 15 points and 15 rebounds, 7 of those on the offensive glass, were enough to push Tip to a narrow two point win. Chris Fuqua added 16 points and 10 rebounds in the winning effort.

Tip both won the game, but almost lost it, at free throw line. Tip enjoyed an insane 39 to 3 free throw advantage and if they shot relatively decent from the line, the game would not of been close. However, Tip could only manage 38.5% from thet charity stripe which kept Juice in the game. The free throws still netted a +13 advantage over Juice

Juice were able to get to the line so often because of Tip’s commitment to shoot it on the inside via dribble penetration. Guard Chris Washington lead the charge, his penetration netted him 13 free throws. He ended up with a team high 17 points. Juice attack was more perimeter based, they nearly tripled Tip’s three point attempts.

Despite their advantage inside, Team Juice was able to scratch there way back into the game when Tip missed free throw after free throw. They finally pulled within 2 but with only 3 seconds on the clock and having to travel the length of the court. Alas the comback would not be completed on the final possession as a David Headly half court heave rimmed out. Despite the miss, Headly wad extremely effective from the outside, hitting 3 of his 4 in his other more traditional three point attempts.

Brian St. Pierre led Juice with 17 points and 6 rebounds. Joe Manor added 12 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assist, but only played 23 minutes. That was a mistake as Juice desperately needed his 6-4 size to match up with Ramiono and Fuqua.
