STEELHAWKS’ BUSHEY WINS ACH TRAINER OF THE YEAR AWARD FOR ...
Date: Mar 15, 2017
Hamilton and the Dundas Real McCoys met on Saturday night at the Dave Andreychuk Mountain Arena in ACH action with a playoff berth on the line. The Steelhawks would jump out to a two goal first period lead but the Real McCoys would score five unanswered goals over the final two period to take the game 5-2. The loss officially eliminates Hamilton from advancing to the ACH playoffs.
The Steelhawks picked up the opening goal of the game 12-seconds into their only power play chance of the period when Taylor Carnevale threw the puck out front of the net and it went off two sets of Real McCoys skates and into the net. Dean Strong would extend the lead for Hamilton with 6:09 remaining in the opening period as he dug at a loose puck in the crease and knocked it in.
Dundas cut the Steelhawks lead in half in the second period when they scored on a point shot that Dalton McGrath never saw at the 8:57 mark. The Real McCoys would go on to score four times in the third period to seal the victory for them.
Hamilton will finish off the 2016-17 ACH regular season next Saturday night when they host the Whitby Dunlops at the Dave Andreychuk Mountain Arena on Royal LePage Night. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
