STEELHAWKS’ BUSHEY WINS ACH TRAINER OF THE YEAR AWARD FOR ...
Date: Mar 15, 2017

After taking four of six points in the standings over the previous two meetings with the Brantford Blast the Steelhawks would outshoot Brantford 39-28 in Allan Cup Hockey action on Friday night. However, the Blast would skate away with a 5-2 win in Hamilton’s final road game in this year’s regular season. With the loss and the Real McCoys loss to the Stoney Creek Generals, Hamilton and Dundas remain tied for the final playoff spot with each team having two games remaining in the regular season, including a head to head matchup on Saturday night.
Brantford opened the scoring with a pair of goals in the first period but Hamilton got on the board halfway through the second when Ryan Healy scored his first goal as a Steelhawk to cut the Blast lead in half. However, almost five minutes later the Blast would score to regain their two-goal lead which they took to the dressing room at the second intermission.
Jonthon Demme would once again make it a one-goal game as he scored for Hamilton at the 6:44 mark of the third but that was as close as the Steelhawks would get. Brantford added a pair of goals in the final half of the period to take the game 5-2.
Hamilton returns to the ice on Saturday night when they host the Dundas Real McCoys in what is the biggest game in franchise history and could decide the final playoff spot. Game time tomorrow night at the Dave Andreychuk Mountain Arena is at 7:30 PM on Rosedale Minor Hockey Night.
