Maple Leafs Announce Postseason Schedule

TORONTO – The Toronto Maple Leafs scored nine straight runs to stun the Brantford Red Sox with a 12-11 win Wednesday night at Christie Pits in Game 1 of their best-of-seven quarter-final.
Toronto trailed 11-3 before scoring five in the seventh inning and taking its first lead with four runs in the eighth.
Adam Odd hit a two-run blast in the seventh inning and scored twice in the victory. Justin Marra singled, doubled and drove in three, while Tyler Hardie had a pair of RBI. Grant Tamane went 2-for-5 with two runs and an RBI, Jon Waltenbury and Jonathan Solazzo each scored twice and drove in a run, Zac Orchard singled twice and scored once, and Daniel Szpik had an RBI. Connor Lewis added two hits and two runs.
Zach Sloan (1-0) picked up the win in relief, allowing a run on two hits with a walk and four strikeouts in three innings. Justin Cicatello tossed a clean ninth with a strikeout for the save.
Pedro De Los Santos started and gave up 10 runs on nine hits over five innings. He walked two and struck out six.
Nic Burdett went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI for the Red Sox. Brandon Dailey added a two-run blast. Ricky Murray and Cody Mombourquette each had two hits and two runs, Chris Dennis drove in a pair, Benjamin Bostick scored twice and had an RBI, while Dan Jagdeo and Nate DeSouza each drove in a run.
Dalton Harvey (0-1) took the loss after he was touched up for four runs on three hits with a walk in one-third of an inning. Starter Christian Garcia allowed three runs on three hits with three walks and five strikeouts in 5.2 innings.
