Leafs Re-sign 2017 Rookie of the Year Zac Orchard

TORONTO – The Toronto Maple Leafs, members of the Intercounty Baseball League (IBL) today announced they have re-signed 2017 IBL Rookie of the year Zac Orchard for the 2018 season.

Orchard, a Cambridge, Ontario native, rejoins the Leafs after a successful rookie campaign. In seventeen games player, Zac recorded a .456 average with four doubles, one triple and four home runs over fifty-seven at bats. Orchard also recorded twenty RBI and six walks.

Currently a senior at Florida Tech in Melborne, Florida, in thirty-five games played, he has recorded a .289 average with four doubles, two home runs and nineteen RBI.

The Toronto Maple Leafs are a member of Ontario's most elite baseball league, the Intercounty Baseball League. The 100-year old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, with the league established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
