Leafs Sign Former Blue Jays Minor Leaguer Marcus Knecht

TORONTO – The Toronto Maple Leafs, members of the Intercounty Baseball League (IBL) today announce the signing of former Toronto Blue Jays Minor league prospect Marcus Knecht for the 2018 season.

Knecht, 27, joins the Maple Leafs following an eight-year minor professional career in the Toronto Blue Jays and Minnesota Twins organizations. Last season, Marcus suited up for the Quebec Capitales of the Can-Am League where he recorded a .242 batting average with 19 doubles, five home runs and 43 RBI over 85 games played.

A Toronto native, Marcus spent his college playing days at Connor State College before being picked up by the Jays in 2010.

The Toronto Maple Leafs are a member of Ontario's most elite baseball league, the Intercounty Baseball League.
