Hamilton's Charlie Dieruf named GLSCL Player of the Week

GLSCL PITCHER OF THE WEEK - June 30, 2025

 

Charlie Dieruf - Hamilton Joes - University of Cincinnati commit

Charlie Dieruf struck out 11 batters in seven innings of work for the Joes during a 6-5 loss against the Xenia Scouts. Dieruf did not factor in the decision in that on June 28. The Hebron, Kentucky native gave up just one run and one hit while giving up just three walks.

 

Dieruf recently announced his transfer to the University of Cincinnati after spending his freshman season this past spring at Miami University. The right hander pitching in 24.1 innings for the Redhawks giving up 16 earned runs while striking out 17 and walking just four batters.

 

The Hebron, Kentucky naive played his high school baseball at Covington Catholic High School. Dieruf was a varsity team member for four seasons advancing to the 9th Region semi finals as a senior in 2024.

 

HONORABLE MENTION - Pitcher of the Week

 

Manny Soto - Xenia Scouts - Westmont College

Manny Soto made two appearances out of the bullpen for the Scouts pitching eight innings an recording the win for the Scouts on June 24 against the Flag City Sluggers. Soto pitched five shutout innings of relief in the Scouts sudden death victory over the Hamilton Joes on June 28.

 

 

Tanner Coddington - Grand Lake Mariners - Whitman College

Tanner Coddington pitched six shutout against the Lima Locos on June 25. Coddington scattered six hits and two walks while registering two strikeouts. Coddington did not factor in the decision as the Locos beat Grand Lake 13-7.

 

 

Anderson Hayes - Lima Locos - Notre Dame

Anderson Hayes earned his first victory of the season in a 3-1 win over the Michigan Monarchs. Hayes pitched six innings striking out seven batters giving up just one run on four hits and two walks.

The Great Lakes Summer Collegiate, founded in 1987, is a wood-bat league that is certified by the NCAA and is partially funded by Major League Baseball. The GLSCL is a non-profit 501(c)(3) entity that is one of 12 members of the National Alliance of Collegiate Summer Baseball (NACSB). The league currently consists of 7 active franchises in Ohio and Michigan boasting several players that have earned service time in major league baseball.
