GLSCL PLAYER OF THE WEEK - June 30, 2025
Evan Holstein - Lima Locos - Kennesaw State University
Evan Holstein went 8-for-15 at the plate for a .533 batting average helping lead the Locos to wins in all six games for the week. Holstein drove in nine RBIs scoring five runs and hitting a home run against the Grand Lake Mariners on June 25.
Holstein currently is riding an eight-game hitting streak with four multi-hit games. The catcher from Kennesaw State is hitting .480 on the season with 13 RBIs.
The Canton, Georgia native finished his freshman season at Kennesaw this past spring. Holstein earned 35 at bats in the spring as a backup catcher for the Owls. Kennesaw State finished in third place advancing to the Conference USA Tournament semifinals falling to the eventual champion Western Kentucky.

Jack Bakus - Muskegon Clippers - Lansing Community College
Jack Bakus went 10-for-22 for a .545 batting average extending his hitting streak to eight games. Bakus added two doubles along with two RBIs and has reached base in all 19 games this season.
Jackson Wang - Hamilton Joes - Wabash Valley College
Jackson Wang went 10-for-19 at the plate for a .526 batting average. Wang had three hits in back-to-back games on June 24 and June 25 against the Muskegon Clippers.
Brett Reed - Flag City Sluggers - Lawrence University
Brett Reed hit for a .473 batting average going 9-for-19 at the plate. Reed had two hit in five of the six games that he playing in during the course of the week. He also scored six runs, drove in four RBIs and stole two bases.

The Great Lakes Summer Collegiate, founded in 1987, is a wood-bat league that is certified by the NCAA and is partially funded by Major League Baseball. The GLSCL is a non-profit 501(c)(3) entity that is one of 12 members of the National Alliance of Collegiate Summer Baseball (NACSB). The league currently consists of 8 active franchises in Ohio and Michigan boasting several players that have earned service time in major league baseball.
