GLSCL PITCHER OF THE WEEK - June 23, 2025
Brady Fitzpatrick - Lima Locos - Ball State University (transfer portal)
Brady Fitzpatrick only made one relief appearance for the week but it was a memorial one for the Lima Locos. Fitzpatrick pitched three and 2/3 inning striking a whopping 10 batters in the Locos 7-6 loss against the Southern Ohio Copperheads on June 20. He faced 15 batters retiring 11 of them with 10 being struck out.
Fitzpatrick spent the 2025 spring season as member of the Ball State University baseball program. He did not appear in a game as he was redshirted as a freshman. Fitzpatrick recently announced he was entering the transfer portal.
Fitzpatrick, who is a native of Liberty Township, Ohio, is in the top five on the GLSCL leader board with 17 strikeouts during in seven and 2/3 innings or work.
HONORABLE MENTION - Pitcher of the Week
Dale Ellis - Hamilton Joes - Miami University-Hamilton
Dale Ellis improved his record on the season to 2-0 with win over the Lima Locos on June 19. Ellis pitched six innings giving up just one unearned run on four hits with five strikeouts and two walks.
Alex Dicke - Grand Lake Mariners - Spring Hill College
Alex Dicke pitched six innings in a 3-2 Mariners win over the first place Michigan Monarchs. Dicke did not factor in the decision despite only giving up one unearned run and one hit while striking out batters.
Nick Rodriguez - Xenia Scouts - Wiley College
Nick Rodriguez pitched six shutout innings giving up just four hits while striking out four batters in the Scouts 9-2 win over the Michigan Monarchs. Rodriguez improved to 3-0 on the season tied for the lead in the GLSCL with three victories.
ABOUT THE GREAT LAKES SUMMER COLLEGIATE LEAGUE
The Great Lakes Summer Collegiate, founded in 1987, is a wood-bat league that is certified by the NCAA and is partially funded by Major League Baseball. The GLSCL is a non-profit 501(c)(3) entity that is one of 12 members of the National Alliance of Collegiate Summer Baseball (NACSB). The league currently consists of 7 active franchises in Ohio and Michigan boasting several players that have earned service time in major league baseball.
