Tough Loss Against The Hamilton Joes On 6/11

Tough loss against the Hamilton Joes Wednesday night, leaving the Cheads with a 3-2 standing in the league.  

Wednesday night’s game was sponsored by SunPower and the first pitch was thrown by Cayson on their behalf. Both teams came out strong during the 1st inning with 3 runs being scored by the Joes. The Cheads starting lineup managed to secure 2 runs during the bottom of the 1st. Will Heiser hit a double due to an error. Ronnie Rowley, a fan favorite lefty, hit a triple.

Transitioning into the second inning, there was a double play on the infield stopping the Joes from scoring any runs. During the bottom Reed Woodland made it to first on an error but couldn’t make it to home.

During the third and fourth inning, starting pitcher Jack Leonard threw 2 strike outs. During the inning Jace Parnin, Frankie Clark, & Jackson Kale all hit singles but were unfortunately stopped by the Joes before returning home.

Fifth and sixth innings were a standstill between both teams with neither adding any runs to the game. 

Points were added to the board by both teams during the seventh inning. JP Olsen stepped up to the mound as a pitcher throwing a strikeout. Brock Miller scored a run with an assist from Will Heisler. At the end of the seventh the score was left at 6-3.

Both teams scored during the eighth inning. Olsen was still on the mound throwing heat but the Joes managed to score one run. When up to bat Clark hit a single followed by a double that was hit by Tylan Graves leaving the score at 7-4 at the bottom of the eighth. 

The ninth inning was quick with 0 runs and 0 hits for either team. 

The Cheads will be looking for redemption against the Joes on Thursday June 12th at Bob Wren Stadium. Come out and Support your local Copperheads!
