Close Game Against Lima Locos, 6-3

Date:  Source: Southern Ohio Copperheads

The Southern Ohio Copperheads took on the Lima Locos at their home paradise on July 15th for a beach themed game. The Locos came out sneaky as they stole six bases in the first three innings allowing them to score five runs by the bottom of the third. In the bottom of the second the Copperheads capitalized off walks and was able to bring Will Heisler home to add a run to the scoreboard.

Pitcher Dylan Klein took over for Jack Leonard in the fourth inning, he kept the scoreboard quiet by throwing a strikeout. Will Heisler added another run to the scoreboard with help from Brendan Willadsen and Case Sullivan.

The next three innings were at a standstill as the Locos were no match for the Copperheads defense which didn’t allow a single Loco to reach second base. During the bottom of the seventh Haruta Endo and Ronnie Rowley both received walks but unfortunately neither were able to come home.

Runs were finally scored once again during the eighth inning. The Locos scored a run after two walks and a stolen base. The Copperheads added a third run to the board brought by two doubles from Case Sullivan and Jake Fix.

During the ninth inning Reon Iwase took the mound and pitched back-to-back strikeouts. Keeping the Locos from extending their lead. The final score of this beach brawl was 6-3.

The Copperheads will seek redemption on July 16th at Bob Wren! Go Cheads!
