Summer just got a little more hazy in Athens! Homer is bringing back his favorite IPA for all of his friends to try this season. Originally launched in 2022, Homer’s Hazy is a juicy, citrus based IPA, brewed in partnership with Jackie O’s Brewery. Art Oestrike, owner of Jackie O’s spoke about how this partnership was started saying “It was a no brainer, [as the] Jackie O’s team has historically gone to lots of Copperheads games throughout the years”.

The tapping party itself was held on April 3 in the brewpub, bringing together fans, community partners, staff, and coaches all in one room for the first time this season. This event featured giveaways, trivia, and of course taste testing of the hazy. One of the attendees, Dylan Burke, Copperhead’s director of sponsorships spoke about the event saying “It was exciting to see the fans come together and support one of our key partners and talk with them about baseball. I can’t wait to see everyone in Bob Wren this year!”

With smooth citrus notes and hints of pineapple and tangerine, Homer’s Hazy is now available at all Copperheads games, Jackie O’s locations, and an assortment of local bars. As Oestrike put it, “Cheads games become a very big part of what summer means.” 

The first game is June 6th at Bob Wren Stadium so grab a cold one, head out to the ballpark, and enjoy summer - Athens style!
