The Atlantic and Northern seeds to the UBaseball National Championship in Fredericton are beginning to taking shape after all four semi-final match-ups were settled in double-header victories on Saturday.

In the Northern conference the unbeaten McGill Redmen dispensed with the University of Ottawa Gee Gees in two straight matches 11-1 and 10-0 while the second place Carleton Ravens beat the Concordia Stingers 4-2 and 4-0.  As a result, the Gee Gees will face the Stingers in Montreal for the last remaining seed to the Nationals.

While the higher finishers in the Northern conference won their home doubleheaders, the Atlantic provided a significant upset when the fourth place Acadia Axemen beat first place Saint Mary's 4-3 and 9-4.  This effectively eliminated the Atlantic Conference's pennant champion Saint Mary's because this year's National host team is New Brunswick which lost both their games to Dalhousie 6-5 and 7-3.  Since New Brunswick is guaranteed one of the three Atlantic spots, that leaves Saint Mary's on the outside looking in.

The conference final match-ups will be Carleton at McGill in the North and Acadia at Dalhousie in the Atlantic.
