Rigakos resigns as President

Date:  Source: Canadian Collegiate Baseball Association

Letter from the President:

On June 4th I notified the Executive of the CCBA that I would be resigning my position as President of the CCBA. A week later I also notified the membership of my decision.

My term was set to end this October but recent developments have accelerated this process.  Carleton’s membership in the OUA makes it almost impossible for me to carry on without being in an obvious conflict of interest.

I am proud of what was accomplished in the last three years: the CCBA implemented a new constitution, stricter eligibility rules, advanced the reach and recognition of the CCBA national championship, adopted an integrated stats package and website, and significantly increased the league's social media presence.

None of this would have been possible without support from people like Gordon Burnside, Mark MacNevin, Andre Robidoux, Sean Roche, Fiona Lau, Emily Burda, Davyd Balloch, former President Matti Emery, and the many volunteers who gave their time at the 2018 Canadian University World Series at RCGT Stadium.

I want to wish all of the members of the CCBA and the wider university baseball community continued success.

Sincerely,

George S. Rigakos
