Championship Sunday is set

Date:  Source: Canadian Collegiate Baseball Association

After three days of baseball four teams are set to square off to determine the 2018 Canadian University World Series.

On the final day of competition, defending champs McGill defeated Saint Mary's 13-3 while New Brunswick eliminated Acadia 11-1.  Both Acadia and Saint Mary's were eliminated as a result and the four remaining seeds were determined without resorting to tie-breakers.

While McGill finished with a perfect 3-0 record, three teams: Concordia, Carleton and New Brunswick were tied at 2-1.  Since Concordia had bested both UNB and Carleton they were slotted into the #2 finish.  UNB had fewer runs against than did Carleton and so took the #3 spot.

This sets up a semi-final rematch of last year's final between Carleton (#4) at McGill (#1) in the 10am game on Sunday.  UNB (#3) will play Concordia (#2) in the other semi-final.

The two semi-final winners will face each other in the Championship game scheduled for 6PM at RCGT Stadium in Ottawa.
