The UBaseball National Championships are set to start this Thursday October 19th in Fredericton, NB. The final seeding was determined this past Sunday when Dalhousie defeated post-season upstart Acadia, a team that had knocked out the Atlantic Conference pennant champions Saint Mary's Huskies last week.
Not surprisingly, the Northern Conference once again went to McGill University - a team that looks well positioned to capture a fourth consecutive national championship after defeating Carleton 8-3 and 12-4. The Redmen were 16-0 in the regular season and extended their winning streak to 25 games.
The stage is now set for the perennial university Fall Classic. The six teams qualifying are: McGill, Acadia, Carleton, Dalhousie, Concordia and host University of New Brunswick.
