TIE BREAKERS SET FOR TODAY
FREDERICTON, NB (Oct.21.2017) --
After a whirlwind of games over the past two days, clarity has emerged in the 2017 CCBA National Championships. Here are the standings after the group stage:
1. McGill 3-0
2. Carleton 2-1
3. Concordia 1-2
4. Dalhousie 1-2
5. UNB 1-2
6. Acadia 1-2
According to CCBA tie-breaker rules, no team can be sent home if their record is equal to that of any team making the final slot of the final four. A ranking formula is used to rank these teams based on tournament play. Two tie-breakers are scheduled for Saturday October 21st:
Concordia vs. Acadia
Dalhousie vs. UNB
The winner of those contests are re-seeded based on their tournament group stage ratings as third and fourth and will play-off against either McGill or Carleton who have secured their spots in the elimination round.
